Forty girls, aged 11-17, from Mississauga, Ontario, gathered for a full day event called “The Girl Event Mississauga”. The event was dedicated to topics about self-esteem, body image and the different struggles faced by young girls all over the world. The day consisted of a mix of inspiring speakers, workshops and fun. The young girls made friends, learned about themselves and learned about others. The day culminated in a bake sale, with the girls decorating and selling dozens of cupcakes. Local youth musical entertainment was provided to wrap up the inspiring day. All profits from the day were donated to ROAD. allowing the participants to make a direct impact and contribution to the young women at ROAD. and learn the importance of helping women around the world.
